Asbestos Testing

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that has been used in literally thousands of products. Because of its unique properties – fire resistance, high tensile strength, poor heat and electrical conductivity, and being generally impervious to chemical attacks – asbestos proved well suited for many uses in the construction industry. It becomes a health risk when it is disturbed in such a way that causes fibers to be released into the air and then inhaled. Asbestos was banned from most building products produced in the United States in the 1970’s.

Tim Buller is a Colorado State Licensed asbestos building inspector ( certification #23525 ). We offer testing services for homeowners and contractors as well as restoration and mitigation companies.

Testing for asbestos involves identifying possible asbestos containing materials (ACM ) and then taking the requisite number of samples based on the area size or volume of ACM that could be disturbed and the number of homogeneous areas.
